Gearing Up For The Autumn

August 21, 2012

It has been a hot summer at TKGB. We’ve taken over a PR agency, Lupo Publicity, which has offices in London and Stockholm, and are gradually incorporating them into our business. We’ve been working with some great new clients as well, helping one engineering group  in Spain with content for a new multi language website and another oil company client in Kuwait develop a unique give-away book on managing trade events. We are also deeply involved with another client on the verge of launching a simply stunning new product in the USA in October. And we helped an international beer company stage a very successful publicity event in Stockholm in early August. We’ll reveal more as it all comes to pass. In the meantime, continue having  a great summer!

A new survey of over 7,000 companies around Europe reveals that 57% of businesses in Europe claim to have problems with liquidity due to late payments, an increase of 10% from last year. There is also a great divide between countries. For example, 96% of the businesses surveyed in Greece claim to have liquidity problems due to late payment compared to only 37% of businesses in Finland. According to Intrum 57% of businesses in Europe claim to have problems with liquidity due to late payments, an  increase of 10% from last year. There is also a great divide between countries. 96% of the businesses surveyed in Greece claim to have liquidity problems due to late payment compared to  only 37% of businesses in Finland. The scale of the debt is staggering: Written-off debt across Europe has risen by €28 billion over the past 12 months, reaching €340 billion. Europe’s economies show a mixed picture. Germany, Europe’s largest economy, shows considerable strength and sees written-off debt declining to its lowest level since 2008,  2.0%. However, countries struck hard by financial turmoil are found on the other end of the spectrum. Greece, sees its written-off debt surging to 5.9%, an increase of 20% from last year. The situation is just  as bad in Bulgaria and Romania. Portugal, Poland and Hungary are showing worrying signs – their written-off debt has increased by 13%, 14% and 17% respectively from last year. Four key trends shaping social in 2012

January 7, 2012

Leading thinkers in marketing, social, digital, and future business gathered with over 500 industry peers at Social Commerce Summit Europe. Together with leaders from the world’s top brands, they shared ideas and trends that will shape the future of social as customer-centricity drives the next wave of organizational change. According to the thought leaders, the four trends below represent the themes driving social today.

Social is a paradigm shift. We’ve moved from channeled experiences and brand-controlled messages to empowered consumers in a channel-agnostic marketplace. Companies should recognise and accept the enormity of this change.

Social data reveals the why behind the buy. Customer conversations create an insight-rich gold mine for businesses. The awesome power of conversation will be felt in the insights gained and the actions inspired.

Becoming customer-centric demands organisational transformation. Capturing the full value of social data takes place across the entire organisation, often requiring cultural changes. Social data can drive change beyond marketing, impacting sales, customer service, and product development.

Context is king in social data. To be successful, internal and external social efforts must be designed and evaluated in relation to the larger context of business goals and historical shifts.

You can read a review of the conclusions here.
